About replacing my E46 wagon in the next 12 month. Need (kinda) something bigger (and Oppo-proof of course). Briefly thought about a CX Break after seeing your post. Searched the web. Are they gone nuts? They sell for more than 8,000$.

So Audi S6 wagon still remains on top of my list (less expensive, more hp, more reliable, AWD).

Sure are. Know a guy that has two. One is a diesel. Takes over a minute to rise before takeoff.

C5’s are pretty reliable, and if you don’t go for the budget model, you get the hydropneumatic that makes it a magic carpet. Long lusted for one. Got a cactus though. That's a whole other level of fun.

I hired a C5 once (by way of an unexpected upgrade from a C3) and although it had the hydro whatsit suspension I don’t recall it being unusually comfortable. It did have the steering headlights though.

Yes, I ordered a small automatic and they didn’t have one (it would have otherwise been a C3 Sensodrive).

The following year I got a C4 Grand Picasso.
